Our Story

Dr. Donna Neary has over three decades of experience as a School Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist and Forensic Psychologist. She specializes in behavioral threat assessment and risk management in order to help school districts train staff, manage challenging situations, and provide appropriate interventions for students and schools. 

 

Training, consultation and forensic student evaluations are available for the 2025-2026 school year.

Dr. Neary's expertise lie's in finding the balance between student needs, school safety, and preparedness in a school setting.  Schools are unique environments that require an understanding of developmental ages and stages, behavioral needs, special education supports and services, parent concerns, and district resources.  With over three decades of experience as a school, clinical, and forensic psychologist, Dr. Neary is in the unique position to help your district create a individualized, detailed and well-balanced plan for your school community.

Services Offered

By Referral & Appointment Only

Training

We provide training to school districts, teachers, administrators and pupil personnel staff on Behavioral Threat Assessment and Risk Management.  Targeted training for PPS staff on the gold standard instruments for assessing, reviewing, and monitoring risky behavior and students.  

Consultation

We can help your school district improve existing policies and practices so that clear expectations are provided to parents, students, and staff and processes are in place to consistently mange and address student behaviors.  

District Support

We help school districts develop comprehensive plans to assess and intervene on behalf of students who engage in risky and/or dangerous behavior and statements. 

 

If you have an existing Threat Assessment Team or plan in your district, Dr. Neary can provide strategies for strengthening and improving existing plans so that prevention efforts, mental health concerns and student safety is addressed.  

 

Dr. Neary can also help guide districts with no plan in place to develop an individualized, comprehensive approach based on targeted goals, needs, and resources. 

 

Dr. Neary's expertise in assessment will help your district be trained with the proper resources to expand the scope of services you provide, fine tune what is in place, or train mental health staff with the gold standard in behavioral threat assessment.  

Forensic Assessments

We provide comprehensive forensic evaluations for students referred by school districts.  If you who wish to better understand an individual student or situation, Dr. Neary will complete a comprehensive assessment that includes individualized, targeted feedback for your district.

Risk Evaluation

We help school districts to evaluate and manage risky statements and behaviors so that student needs are met in a safe and comprehensive way.  

Building & District Teams

We help school districts develop and maintain building level risk assessment teams and district level threat assessment teams.

Creating a Positive School Climate

We help school districts identify additional ways to create safe and supportive environments for all students.  Prevention practices are designed that foster communication, acceptance, clear and consistent expectations, and parent partnerships.

About Us

Meet Dr. Donna Neary

Dr. Neary is a Licensed Psychologist, Certified School Psychologist and a Forensic Psychologist.  Her expertise lies in diagnostic evaluations, risk management, and behavioral threat assessment.  She has over three decades of clinical experience in schools and private practice working with children, adolescents, and young adults.  Dr. Neary is able to connect the information from forensic psychology and school psychology in order to help schools improve their practices, manage challenging and risky situations, and create a more harmonious school community.
